[Xprint] xprint doesn't print symbol font chars I see on screen

I'm running xprint 009 with firefox-0.8 on linux.  All is working well,
but I have noticed that the Greek characters I see on screen at various
web sites don't print out--I get default font instead.  For example, at
 http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/tut18_ex/test.html

Courier is in courier, Times is in Times, Arial, Helvetica is in a nice
sans serif font, but Symbol in Greek on screen is in sans serif rather
than Greek letters.  I have the symbol.ttf file in my fontpath and, as I
mentioned, it displays fine on screen.

Is there some trick that I have missed?
