Subject: [Webmail] Webmail for TB 2.0?

I'm being periodically pestered to upgrade to TB 2.0 (I'm still using 
1.5), however when you check the extensions for compatibility with TB 
2.0 it says that the Webmail extensions are not compatible.  Is that 
really the case?  Is there a newer version I need to download which is 
not available via the standard update mechanism for extensions?

i'm using the webmail ext with TB2 with no problems. the 'remove duplicate
massages' ext doesnt work though

I'm running Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 with extensions Webmail 1.2.3, Hotmail 
1.2.5 and Yahoo 1.2.2 all working fine.  I can't remember my upgrade 
experience, but I think it went ok.

Smooth as silk.  After updating to 2.0.0.6 it advises you that the
Webmail / Hotmail extensions are not compatible with the new version and
offers to check for updates, finds the versions you mentioned above and
installs them.  The whole upgrade took 10 minutes, and most of that was
downloading it.  :-)

To Curtis Earl: It appears that the Remove Duplicate Messages extension
has been rewritten for TB 2.0, we need 0.1.5 which is available here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4654

A very handy extension when the Hotmail extension seems to re-download a
lot of my email every now and then.

    I told 'remove duplicate massages' to become compatible, and it 
works just fine for me. So far forcing old extension to become 
compatible doesn't seem to have caused any issues. So far.

    I have to say, Yahoo stopped working for me, and after going through 
every permutation I could think of, I gave up and deleted it, and 
reinstalled YPops. Hotmail still works just fine though...

Are you using the Yahoo beta web page?  I'm still on the original.  
Otherwise it just works for me.  No clue why it won't work for you.

Howdy,

For the last few days when TB goes to download from Yahoo, I'm getting the
ubiquitous:

The RETR command did not succeed.  Error retrieving a message.  Mail server
localhost responded:
negative vibes from technowonkie at yahoo.com

I can go straight to the Yahoo email web page and read, then delete my
mail.  As long as there's no email in the account, it goes through the check
just fine.

Suggestions?

TB 2.0.0.6
Webmail 1.2.3
Webmail Yahoo 1.2.2

XP/SP2, patched to current.

Webmail 1.2.3, Webmail- Yahoo 1.2.2, TB 2.0.0.6, XPSP2
I have two Yahoo mail accounts that have worked successfully with 
Webmail for quite sometime. Sometime in the last few days one of the 
accounts returns negative vibes when it tries to retrieve mail. The 
other account continues to work fine.

I logged on to the offending account via the web interface and moved all 
messages in the inbox to a temporary directory. At that point webmail 
works fine, of course there's nothing to download at that point. If I 
then put any one message in the inbox I get the negative vibes again.

    Although I am not using Webmail for my Yahoo mail, I have been 
getting the same error message, so I doubt it is a problem with Webmail 
itself. I would hazard a guess that Yahoo has changed something and a 
new version of Webmail Yahoo is already in the works. (As well as a new 
version of YPops for those, like myself, whose PCs have mysterious and 
inexplicable issues with Webmail Yahoo.)

it didn't give the negative vibes error at first, but it came back. 
maybe there are too many emails to download all at once.

my server settings are configured not to leave messeges on the server
and "get only unread mail" is not checked in webmail-yahoo preferences.

With all the messing about an index may have been corrupted,  try 
compacting the folder.
