I just started using the webmail extensions with Thunderbird for my yahoo account. It works greats. Thanks for all the hard work. I have noticed one issue, and I haven't spent the time to fix it (if it's on my side). I get a newsletter from Tech Republic sent to my yahoo account (the format of the email is faily complex, so I can understand how the Webmail extensions might have problems reproducing it in its entirety). Thunderbird then uses the webmail extension to retrieve the email. However, all of the links are broken. This is the only emails that this happens to, and it may be related to how long the links are or how advanced the email is composed. I compared the embedded links from the yahoo account directly to what was being retrieved to Thunderbird using the webmail extensions and this is what I found (the first link works and comes directly from the yahoo account; the second link doesn't work and is in the email that is obtained using Thunderbird/Webmail extension. http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t=11646997-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t%11646997-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t=11647000-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t%11647000-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?c=11648144-73546267&brand=techrepublic&ds=5 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?c%11648144-73546267&brand=techrepublic&ds=5 http://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t=11647029-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0 ttp://ct.techrepublic.com.com/clicks?t%11647029-7758b2dea4d923ae04a836751c78d73b-bf&s=5&fs=0" The first 3 pairs are from links in the 'main/middle' section of the email. The last link comes from a divided right column. Just from examination the '=' are being changed to '%'. The last pair shows that the Webmail extension rebuilt the email and lost part of the url, also changed '=' to '%' and added a '"' at the end. Changing the view to 'Plain HTML' or 'Plain Text' does not change anything. Is the only solution to somehow retrieve the email in plain text or to have the news letter sent in plain text? Like Comodo said, Yahoo is pushing a Yahoo Mail Beta. If you login to your yahoo mail from a web browser, you're redirected to an offer to use the new system. This redirection is what's causing the problem. I fixed it by logging into the yahoo mail account from a web browser and turning down the offer so that it would stop asking. Then the negative vibes thing stops occuring. I don't know what would happen in Thunderbird if you accepted the offer and started using Yahoo Mail Beta. Hope this helps someone. - James Carlos de la Riva wrote: > Hi All, > my OS is Kubuntu Linux > I have TB version 1.5.0.7 > webmail extension 1.0.12 > yahoo extension 1.1.3 > > I keep getting the negative vibes thing and I can not figure it out. > In the past all I would do was update either TB or the extensions but > I seem to have the latest versions > > > can anyone help? > _______________________________________________ > Webmail mailing list > Webmail@mozdev.org > http://mozdev.org/mailman/listinfo/webmail > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
