If password hasher is the only blocking extension that makes you
unable to upgrade to Fx 3.0, try this:

Go to the download page of the extension. Right click on the green box
"Install Now" and save it to disk.
Open the password_hasher-1.0.4-fx.xpi (with 7zip), edit the file
install.rdf inside it, and change manually the maxVersion to 3.0.0.*.
(You will find em:maxVersion="2.0.0.*" /> before the last line, change
the 2 to 3)
Save your change to the install.rdf and to the archive, and try a
re-install by opening the xpi in Firefox. (Dragging the xpi and
dropping it into a running instance of Firefox 3)
