I figured this one out. It turned out to be causing me using a custom
Windows XP theme, which apparently defines this tiny font somewhere.
Among the new features in FF3 is better adherence to themes, so this is
what struck me. Neither changing Firefox preferences nor userChrome.css
seems to help, but going back to the default (boring...) XP theme, does.

I'll just go out and buy a pair of stronger glasses, I guess :-)
