The only 'active' extension is vimperator. All other extensions from my
previous ff2 environment are disabled as they are not available. But,
TabMixPlus was one of them. Just for completeness'sake, I'll uninstall
it completely and will report it if that changes the undo behaviour.

Using latest ff3 and vimperator:
:version Vimperator 0.6pre (created: 2008/02/01 17:38:00) running on:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008020104
Minefield/3.0b3pre
