[Vimperator] :map ?

Hi everyone,

First of all, I'd like to thank Martin for Vimperator --
I daresay I had wet dreams about such a plug-in.

I have a couple of problems though, which I'll post in
several e-mail for the list's archives clarity.

How is :map supposed to work? I personally find :tabopen to
be a bit awkward, and my fingers seem to think that the best
way to open a new tab should be ':new', so I tried:

:map new tabopen

but :new still complains that 'E492: Not an editor command:
new'.

So, does :map work at all?
