[Vimperator] Quick hints hanging

I've been having a problem for which I'm one step closer to localising
the source. Occasionally, vimperator won't leave quick-hint mode no
matter what I do. The hint-markers remain on the page, also if I close
down the relevant tab. Esc doesn't work, and the only option is to
restart FF.

I found out yesterday that if this happened with a page I had reached
through StumbleUpon, every attempt to Esc away from hint mode brought
up a new stumble page. Now, the keyboard shortcut for Stumble is
Alt-Esc, so I figured that somehow FF, Vimperator, or some other
element in the chain mixes up the codes for Esc with some other key
code. 

Am I the only one to have experienced this? I've now tried to disable
StumbleUpon, and I haven't had any quick-hint-hangups yet, but then
again, it only happens occasionally in any case.

(BTW, I'm using the latest cvs version of vimperator).
