Looks interesting, although i have uninstalled hit-a-hint a while ago...

Main question: How does that work with >30 tabs or when there are so
many tabs that this quick tab bar would get too high?

Also the problem is, you have to locate the tab again, where you want to
go, this behavior is already possible with b<tab>
(at least with :set wildmode=longest:full,full)

Numbered tabs had the advantage that they would always be visible.

Note to myself: This reminds me, i should change the :buffers output to
use the new multiline widget instead of the current listbox.
