Could you be more specific about the error? :) So ':open somekeyword'
failed with an alert box "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded"?
Unsetting 'defsearch' isn't going to help with your keyword bookmarks
not being found. Steps 2 and 3 in :open's help should state more
clearly that they both apply to search engine aliases AND keywords -
with search engine matches having priority. (i.e. s/search
engine/search engine or keyword/)
However, with an unset 'defaultsearch' keywords should, obviously, still work.
Are your search engines all broken on the work machine too? Does
:open offer the search engines and keywords in the commandline
completion window?
