It would be awesome if someone running a mac could test if the sync with the mac addressbook works as well - and to post any bugs (http://synckolab.mozdev.org/bugs.html) if it doesnt (or drop a line if it actually does work). I think I have found a way to reproduce our problems. I'll make a short story out of it :P Today I decided to begin with a clean environment and work my way up. I have three fully patched Windows XP machines at hand here with Thunderbird 2.0.0.21, Lightning 0.9 and SyncKolab 200905072035-nightly. I created a new calendar (debug) on every machine and set up synckolab with a dedicated shared imap folder. Everything worked fine (despite some new lines being cut but that's really not an issue here ;)). That sounds like https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=20877 that did cause me also some trouble. At first, you could try to disable automatic syncing and see if your errors are gone then. Although the nightly you use already contains a fix so that multiple sync processes do not interfere with each other, there still seem to be some problems. If you are feeling brave, you could apply the patch I just uploaded (see bugzilla). That should fix your problem even with enabled autoruns. (At least the first bit of it, let's see if something is still left afterwards.) Side note: you might still run into some troubles when you run multiple syncs from different clients in parallel. I currently try to track these problems down, one by one. (Again, see bugzilla.) Let me know, if you find some more issues in this area. If I am correct, I can easily patch files of firefox/thunderbird extensions because it doesn't check for their integrity. Automatic sync is enabled with 3 minutes for each calendar. The result is: it just syncs the second calendar. The first one is not even tried and I get the "NS_ERROR_DOM_NOT_FOUND_ERR". If I do manual sync, both calendars sync (first one first) but i get "nicht lesbar" (not readable) on the only item of the second calendar and it creates a duplicate with a date and removes this one from the first item. Can't figure out why it does that. Additionally, on a second PC I get "MODIFICATION_FAILED" on manual second. I can provide full debug logs but would rather not post them on this list. Anonymizing might hide things ;) Regards, jesse Jan Sch?nherr wrote: > Hi jesse. > > That sounds like > > https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=20877 > > that did cause me also some trouble. > > At first, you could try to disable automatic syncing and see if your > errors are gone then. Yes, though you have to patch the files, that are located _inside_ the synckolab.jar somewhere in your profile directory. (Not those you find right away.) > Automatic sync is enabled with 3 minutes for each calendar. The result > is: it just syncs the second calendar. I guess that is without the patch? > If I do manual sync, both calendars sync (first one first) but i get > "nicht lesbar" (not readable) on the only item of the second calendar > and it creates a duplicate with a date and removes this one from the > first item. Can't figure out why it does that. > > Additionally, on a second PC I get "MODIFICATION_FAILED" on manual second. Is this with a clean start? I.e. autosync disabled, empty calendar, removed all messages in the IMAP-Folders and removed the cached messages (there is a synckolab folder in your profile directory)? When I discovered those problems, I had some events that mysteriously turned into tasks causing those "nicht lesbar" errors (see outermost XML tag). MODIFICATION_FAILED errors are caused (at least for me) by duplicates (imap messages with the same subject). Regards Jan PS: My patch has a minor flaw, but doing it right is more complex: The patch limits the number of autosynced calendars to one per minute. With multiple calendars and small autosync times, the first calendars might fill the available time slots, so that some calendars are never synced automatically. (With two calendars and three minutes, you won't have that problem.) The server is: Version 20090407, Kolab Server 2.2.1 When i set up Synkolab the options to sync Calendar or Tasks are greyed out. Any ideas why ? On Windows(Vista 32 bit) with TunderBird 2 and Synkolab 1.0.3 things work as expected and i am able to sync also the Calendar and Tasks. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... If they are accessible synckolab "knows" that you installed lightning. It might be that in your configuration there is a problem with one of these objects. What other extensions do you have installed? Did you check out the error log with full debug enabled? Maybe there is something that could give me a hint on whats going on.
