I am utterly aware of the intent of your request. My humble contribution to the thread simply reaffirms the existence of this bug and to clarify the manner of its occurrence. Also, the behavior of versions less than 2.4d1 was that the query opened up with the search engine listed in the search bar. Since google is default, that was the usual behavior. Even when the search bar is changed to dictionary.com plugin, for example, superdragandgo still uses google for the search.
