Paul and anyone wanting to provide feedback,
Mozdev is currently soliciting status reports. I do not know if we will
meet the deadline for this month; however, below is what I've gathered
from previous posts and tried to edit for general users to understand.
Please let me know of changes that are needed. Thanks..
Searchsidebar - v0.1.7
(Powerful advanced search capability for Firefox)
* Home Page
* Install
* Contact: Searchsidebar mailing list
For: Firefox
Platform: Windows, Linux, Mac OSX
v0.1.8 is available for pre-release testing on Firefox 1.5 release
candidates only.
Notable Highlights for our current release v0.1.7.
* * Improvements: * Integration with Firefox searchbox and location bar
* Preferences panel option to switch on/off auto search sidebar toggle
* Advanced mode right click menu to delete search plugins
* Right click menu to open Searchsidebar result in a new window or tab
* Next/Previous buttons work as expected when specified in the
Mycroft plugin file
* Updated en-US and added it-IT locale
* When viewing multi-search results from the main browser window by
searchengine it now loads the actual URL rather than scraped HTML
* Will install under Firefox 1.5 RC2 (and will install the search
plugin for Mycroft Advanced Search under Fx 1.5 RC2)
* * Issues: * Next/previous buttons do not work as expected when
searching from the address bar
* When clicking on multi-search results in main browser window no
HTML is displayed in the frame below
* If in multi search and you navigate away from the multi search
main page and then go back in the history then search results
disappear from the sidebar.

Hi,
That sounds great and I can't think of anything else to say.

I have a number of library search applications which return XML rather
than HTML, the output being formatted to HTML using XSLT.
I am not certain whether I should specify the location of the search
results as XML tags or as HTML tags in the formatted result - though in
either case I can't seem to specify the tags in such a way that the
results are identified.
Can anyone help resolve this problem as if I can sort it out it will be
possible to develop a rather nice little federated search across library
catalogues using Search Sidebar.

Subject: [SearchSidebar] Searchsidebar: Spanish locale
Message-ID:
Hello everybody
I have started to use your extension in Firefox with Spanish locale,
but noticed that not all the messages are translated into Spanish.
So I extracted from XPI file the Spanish locale and translated the
remanent English sentences (using pspad) and saved them as UTF-8 (I
specify this because sometimes there are problems related to the
format with accents and signs like ? or ?). Tested in my PC and
everything seemed OK, although some sentences did not appear (perhaps
Mozilla-only?)
You can find enclosed a zip file with the updated files (default.htm,
options.dtd searcpannel dtd and properties, and searchsidebar.dtd),
maybe you can use them in next release of the extension. If you have
more sentences to be included, translation doubts or something to be
modified in Spanish locale for next version please contact me through
this mail address (adeurquia@gmail.com), and I will translate it.
Greetings, and thanks for this extension
Antonio (a.k.a Urko)
