Staying true to my words, the mod series for v1.3.6 stopped when
v1.4 nighties become available for download. However, improvement
doesn't stop there. Here are a couple of screenshots of what's to
come.

As you can tell, it has not yet been completed, but major
components like file caching, file storage, events management,
regexp search, and support for user scripting have already been
implemented. The reason why there isn't more in the screenshots
is because I still haven't decided whether I should: 1) wrap this
around Sage v1.4 and implement as a mod; 2) make it a stand-
alone extension then attach Sage v1.4 through user scripting, or
3) separate it from Sage completely and make its own
XMLHttpRequest.
At the moment I'm still pondering whether the UI should be
rewritten to limit access of user scripts, and will have to stay
away from that final decision for a while. Regardless of the
outcome, I would like to say that Sage is truly one of the finest
examples of how extensions for Firefox should be written, and
without it the learning curve for "chrome" beginners like myself
would have been much, much steeper.
Many, many thanks to the Sage developers not only for the
great rss reader, but also for the great learning tool.
