[Quotecolors] big mistake: installed 0.1C to personal profile. now0.2 wont run

Did you try the uninstall button from the Quote Colors settings dialog?

Now, if you are using Thunderbird 0.7, old extensions should be disabled
without uninstall, so there should be no problems.

If everything else fails, there is a basic description of what to do at
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/uninstalling.html
You need to delete quotecolors.jar from chrome dir, edit chrome.rdf and
overlayinfo/messenger/content/overlays.rdf to remove all references to
"quotecolors". This may not be easy for the unexperienced user! If you don't
have any other extensions or themes installed, you could just delete these
two files as they are created automatically when Thunderbird is started.
