As is stated on the project page, this is a known issue and there is not
much interest in getting the commandline working, so it had been
backburnered. You're *FAR* better off doing a standard install as your
local brower or editing your profiles.ini file (in Documents and
Settings) to reference the profile on your portable drive. Either will
work better than trying to use the Portable Firefox Launcher as your
default browser.
That said, Portable Firefox 1.0.1, currently in beta, adds in the
ability to pass URL parameters. PortableFirefox.exe expects one
commandline parameter and, if found, will pass it to Firefox as a -url
parameter. Doing this earlier has been difficult due to limitations in
the NSIS language the launcher is written in. However, I was able to
rework the launcher... just yesterday in fact... to work around some of
the limitations.
It is important to keep in mind, however, that using Portable Firefox as
your default web browser is still not a supported configuration... even
with the addition of commandline passing.
