From tyler.close at gmail.com Sat Sep 17 13:01:49 2005 From: tyler.close at gmail.com (Tyler Close) Date: Sat Sep 17 15:03:09 2005 Subject: [Petname] Colors not workig when Noia theme is installed In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <5691356f05091712011f93ce7e@mail.gmail.com> Hi Chris, It looks like Noia is overriding the CSS styling applied to the petname textbox. I installed the Noia theme in my browser and was able to reproduce the behaviour you describe. The petname tool seems to still work: it creates new petname bookmarks and correctly finds and displays them on page transitions. It's just that the CSS styling is being overridden by your theme. I'm not sure how to fix this yet, so if anyone has any tips, send them along. Tyler PS Chris, your first message was bounced by the petname list because your are not currently a subscriber. I'm seeing something similar to the problem Sharlein was having (from the Petname messageboard; copied below). I go to ebay.com or my bank key.com and get to the secured login parts of the site. The Petname box does not appear yellow at any point. After I enter the petname name into the box, it never becomes green. I don't know if something I'm doing is causing the problem or maybe a possible conflict with other extensions/themes or maybe a setting somewhere. I am using Firefox 1.0.6. My theme is Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) 2.88 if that is pertinent. I'm sending my Config to show you my Extensions in case you know of an existing conflict with any of them. I also included a screenshot to show you the colors I'm seeing. > > Thanks for any help you can provide. > > Chris > > ===================================================================================== > > MESSAGE FROM MOZDEV MESSAGEBOARD: > > "Hi sharlein, If you hover your mouse over the Petname Tool, you'll see that it displays the text: "This page was not transmitted securely." Since the page was not transmitted using SSL, it is not possible to know for sure where the page came from. Try visiting a web site that uses SSL, like your bank. The Petname Tool will become enabled, change to a yellow background color and show the tooltip: "Describe your relationship with this site." You can then enter your reminder note, causing the Petname Tool to turn green. You've now recorded your relationship with a site that can be securely identified. From now on, the Petname Tool will display your reminder note every time you return to the same secure site. You can use this indication to guard against phishing sites.
