[Padma] Fwd: How to manually transform a page by Padma?

Frankly, I had spend so much time on this task, and had done it anyway
through the empty profile that I talked about, that I didn't try the
solution. I take it that it must be the problem and the solution.

However, I couldn't understand what is the merit of keeping padma
working only on non-unicode character encoding, and keeping it not
working on unicode encoding.

when a person is manually given a command to transform text, it is
obvious that he/ she wants the text to get transformed. In such a case,
why stop him to get the transformed text, why make padma sit idle
without even informing that padma won't do anything on a unicode
character encoding, and telling him that if he still wants it, he should
change the encoding away from unicode.

or is there any technical clash that doesn't allow padma to work on a
unicode encoded page.

I assume that it could be just an oversight on the developer's part that
encoding was not taken care of, thus padma is not working on unicode pages.

If that was so, I would hope that some fix would get released so that
padma will work on unicode encoded pages also. It should especially work
when a user gives the manual transform command, and, if it can't work,
at least the user should be told to change the encoding away from
unicode, or he should be told not to expect padma to work.

It is excellent extension when it works.

Thanks and Regards.
