1.0.2 is a maintenance release, making Mouse Gestures compatible with
Firefox 1.5 Beta 1. Far more users than expected downloaded the beta,
and subsequently complained on http://addons.mozilla.org about Mouse
Gestures not being able to install (and even when Firefox was forced to
install it, Mouse Gestures had some trouble). So we had to hurry a bit
with this one, and 1.0.2 was made "by hand" based on the 1.0.1 release.
It included only a small selection of bugfixes - the bare minimum needed
for 1.5 beta - and hence did not include most of what's been happening
in our code base since 1.0.1, among it the addition of the Hungarian
locale, but also some very cool new features.
Basically, I decided our releases will work a bit like those of Firefox
from now on. Imagine a tree with the trunk representing the ongoing
development, growing upwards as time flies. With each new "feature
release", 1.0 in this case, a "branch" is made at that exact point in
time, growing sideways from the trunk. Now, if we release a 1.0.x
version, it will not be made from the trunk, but from its respective
branch, which got only selected bug fixes - security and compatibility
fixes, and those for showstopper bugs.
That said, the next feature-release, dubbed 1.1, will of course include
Hungarian.
I'm very sorry that this procedure resulted in a disappointment for you,
and hope you accept my apologies.
Anyone having questions about this matter, feel free to send e-mail to
me or the list.
Best regards,
Jens
