Evening Charles:

Okay, time for me to chow down on a little crow.

Filling in some of the blanks. The search results page was:

http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?name=&category=12&country=CA&language=en&submitform=Search&sherlock=yes

The browser is Firefox 1.5.0.4.

The wrinkle in this story is that I use NoScript. When the search page was
up it showed "scripts partially allowed" in the status bar. I, based on
experience on other pages, thought that meant mosdev.org was allowed but
not any others. The scripts should have or would have worked. Out of
curiosity I clicked on the icon and mosdev.org came up on the list of
options to be allowed perm or temp. So I clicked it perm and lo and behold
the links now worked as they were supposed to. So much for trusting the
accuracy of status msgs.

My apologies for the error.
