By default the search plugin is considered to be x-mac-roman.
This makes it a bit difficult if you're using something else... requires
translation really.
You can set sourceTextEncoding but I haven't worked out quite how this works
and it doesn't accept all encodings...
Look at some of the Google plugins to see how I've persuaded them to display
the country correctly (eg Google ES)
