Hi,
I am the author of the extension "Search Engine Ordering"
(http://maltekraus.de/Firefox/Search-Engine-Ordering/) for Firefox. It
primarily adds UI for browser.search.order.* It also lets you delete
Searchplugins (on the same way as SearchpluginHacks) and can hide the
"Add Engines"-option (or change its URI). The next release will also add
automatic creation of search-plugins.
It would be nice if you'd link to it in the "related projects" section.
Oh, and a completely different question: what charset should
search-plugins use? I tried UTF-8 and ISO-8859-15 but both did not seem
to work. (I am using Firefox' nsIConverterOutputStream and
nsIFileOutputStream to create/write to the file from within my extension
if that matters)
