Hello. Firstly, let me thank you for developing the Mozile addon for Firefox 2. I discovered that it makes an exceptional tool for web research, in conjunction with Highlighter and Scrapbook, other Firefox extensions. Due to Mozile, not only can one highlight on the webpage, underline, add sticky notes -- but enter two feet into the text, add ones comments in paranthesis, delete chunks not necessary, etc. All in the same app! Then, save everything in the scrapbook and move on.

Great.

However, I encountered a small problem which I cannot sort out due to my technical incompetence. I needed to remove the background and to modify the text color in some web page, in order to save color print ink. Due to the operation of highlighting, it is impossible to simply disable the "print background" in the page setup menu. In order for the highlights to appear in a printout, the printing of the background ought be enabled in page setup.

I brought forth the markup of the page with Mozile, identified the values for text and bgcolor, found a table with html color codes, replaced with 000000 for text, deleted the bgcolor completely, pressed the "update markup" button in the editor and... the whole content of the page vanished, except for the... color of the background. I double checked that I do not do something wrong by saving the "page source" from Firefox and doing the same editing (wysywyg editing, that is) with an offline editor. The modified page loaded nicely in Firefox, without the annoying background. I also copied the relevant segment from this modified page while opened in Mozile, and pasted over the same section of the original page: with the same negative result as above.

To make this more clear, I attach 4 pics, with the phases of the process: the code & appearence before, the modifications brought, the code after & result, the same page with the code after offline editing.
The original http is http://home.interlog.com/~girbe/War%20between%20Abrahamic%20religions.html. I checked that the option in the http button was set to "text/html".

I would appreciate very much if you could make it clear for me what do I do wrong. I believe that many others would benefit of this perhaps interesting way of using Mozile for web research and archiving.

Sincerely, Mircea
