[Mozile] mozile 0.8::Firebug incompatibility?

When I have Firebug active, mozile 0.8 fails to load core.js. The 
failure occurs in mozile.js, and the exception is caught at row 76 with 
the following error:
"TypeError: win.__firebug__has no properties"

The Firebug Console also reports two warnings: "reference to undefined 
property win.__firebug__         firebug.js (line 609)"

I have Firebug 0.3.2 (most recent I believe) and use Firefox 1.5.0.1 on 
MacOS X Tiger.

So, before I write to the firebug dev, anyone else having similar 
problems? Any ideas of how Mozile might disturb extensions such as 
Firebug (that 609 row in firebug.js is about spying XMLHttpRequests I 
think)?
