MozPhone supports ulaw, alaw, gsm, speex; I'm not sure about ilbc, it may be disabled in iaxclient. Could you force one of the other codecs on your server in iax.conf ? What did Well, if you still have the same error, the configuration has not been taken into account by asterisk. What does the asterisk console say when you try to make a call ? Can you try with Echo asterisk application, so you just have MozPhone talking to asterisk. > you mean when told me ilbc may not be enabled in iaxclient?? when using iax > clients, can't asterisk handle ilbc??. It is possible, but ilbc is not compiled in by default in libiaxclient. If you have libiaxclient source, you can check at the beginning of Makefile, you will see CODEC_ILBC=0. > I'm using x-lite now with ilbc, but it is a sip client. About Jack support, MozPhone currently uses old branch of libiaxclient, which only supports OSS on Linux. Where should i install it? in Asterisk > server or in my workstation? libiaxclient is compiled into MozPhone, you don't need to worry about it. About sound quality it could be related to your sound card; I personnaly have one computer where integrated sound card gives very bad results with MozPhone. I think the ideal solution is usb headset/mic. Bad sound quality could also be related to network congestion, but in your case I don't think so, since the other party has good quality. Some changes have already been discussed / requested on the list. The main changes are: . Preferences via URL. . MozPhone can run as sidebar. . network_client now supports a persistent mode (-d option), where MozPhone can connect, quit, reconnect... This is useful for terminal server environments. . Two new preferences have been added so that MozPhone can start automatically with Firefox, and automatically answer calls. Manager connection is more reliable, with warning if disconnected and reconnect. . Global install should be working. . I've tried to avoid the network_client connection problem on startup by delaying IAXclient initialization. Please try it and report to the mailing list. Changelog: . Preferences via URL (patch from Ubaldo Porcheddu ubaldo(at)eja.it) . Run as sidebar (thanks to Fernando Lujan flujan(at)gmail.com for suggestion and sponsoring by his company http://www.nube.com.br/ ) . network_client: defer iaxclient initialization to facilitate proxiax connection, and allow passing options from GUI. Allow persistent (daemon) operation (command line argument -d). . IAX image reception (image stored in ~/.mozphone/). . Transfer from URL (transfert) . Global install supported. . Change install.rdf: maxVersion=3.* as MozPhone works fine with FF-3.0a1 => no longer works with alpha2 ! . Heavily modified component (tel_proto.js no longer replaced, by nsMozphone.js + interface definitions). . Check manager connection via ping / pong alert if link lost, then try to reconnect (gastman.c, network_client.c). . auto_start and auto_answer (new preferences). . modified iaxclient/lib/portaudio/pa_unix_oss/ {pa_unix.c,pa_unix_oss.c} to continue scanning devices if one is busy. . new translations (thanks to Babelzilla translators). You need the libiaxclient if you want to modify network_client. It's available from iaxclient.sourceforge.net. But if you just need to modify the interface, this should not be necessary: you can reuse the binaries included in the archive, and modify mkxpi accordingly. I just added the executables to the CVS repository, so development MozPhone should be easier. It seems to be a problem with the sidebar, I'll take a look and release a corrected version. Any opinions about the sidebar; do you like it, or prefer separate window... ? Not sure what you mean here; I will restore the broken "open MozPhone and call" on tel:// urls. > > Do you have any plans to add IM and VideoConf ? Video will come with the progress in libiaxclient; I already started looking at it, but right now IAX video support in Asterisk is lagging. Concerning IM, I don't think it is supported in IAX2, but MozPhone already allows you to chat with your correspondents. I just checked autostart in preferences, restarted Firefox, MozPhone starts as exepected. If I close MozPhone but continue using Firefox, surf the web, open new tabs, ..., MozPhone doesn't start again.
