[Mirrors] [Hosting-ftp] Outage for ftp-osl.osuosl.org 2008-04-18

All users of the OSUOSL mirror infrastructure:

Reason for outage: I will be performing maintenance on the master
    mirror, ftp-osl.osuosl.org. Work includes a major RAM upgrade and
    repartitioning of the root partition.

Outage window: 2200 2008-04-18 -- 0700 2008-04-19 UTC
    (1500 2008-04-18 -- 0000 2008-04-19 PDT)

Outage duration: Unknown. The RAM upgrade will take little time, but the
    repartitioning requires rsyncing a large amount of data back onto
    the server. I will send a follow-up e-mail when the outage is
    complete.

Services affected: No updates to the mirrors will occur during the
    outage. I will attempt to run manual syncs for any updates that
    should have occurred during the outage, but some data may take as
    long as 24 hours to be updated. Additionally, downloads will be
    slower, beginning 2008-04-17, since the two slave mirrors will need
    to handle all traffic.

A huge thank you to Fossology, which has generously provided the new
RAM.

Sorry for any problems this may cause. If you plan on making a release
less than a day before or during this outage, I suggest you contact me
so I can reschedule. ;-)
