Hello Rick,

You question is not silly at all and double clicking on it is
certainly the most logical thing. All you need to do is open the .xpi
file with Mozilla Firefox. This can be done in several ways, try
double clicking on the file and choose select program from list.
Select "Firefox" if there and if not click browse and go to
"c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe". Alternatively just
drag the file onto an open firefox window and click install.
