This email is sort of an opinion poll. I am in the process of setting up a blog at jabberzilla.jabberstudio.org. Right now I use Thunderbird with Forumzilla. With Forumzilla, getting someone's latest blog is as easy as as getting email. Sometime in the future, if the blog was set up correctly, would you prefer to keep the mailing list, or would you want to switch to the blog? What do you see as the pro's and con's of each approach? Prefiks has been hard at work implementing support for the full XMPP 1.0 specification. We should see a new release soon after a couple kinks have been worked out. We would also like to thank stpeter (JID stpeter@jabber.org) for his recent contribution to the code of jz, as well as testing jz against a roster of 500+ JID's (the roster crashed mozilla and helped us find a bug). I consider Jabberzilla to not only be the next great cross-platform IM client, but also a community project made up of smart people on the cutting edge of technology. If you have an idea, suggestions, or even code, it would be great to hear from you. Shoot me a message on this list or swing by the jabberzilla room at jabber.org (jabberzilla@conference.jabbber.org). As long as there's an RSS or ATOM feed, then the blog is fine by me, because I can subscribe to it via Mimir [1] and get pinged in my Jabber client whenever the blog is updated. :-) /psa [1] http://mimir.ik.nu/ From betterbilling at earthlink.net Tue Jul 27 20:44:12 2004 From: betterbilling at earthlink.net (c tanner) Date: Tue Jul 27 22:00:27 2004 Subject: [Jabberzilla] welcome Message-ID: <410704EC.4080502@earthlink.net> The JabberZilla Project would like to welcome two new friends, stonefour and papagino. In just a short time (as is the case with the Real-Time Internet of JabberZilla), both contributed to the project. So far this week, the focus has been on jz2, JabberZilla's next generation. papagino helped prefiks with the code to build on a windows box, with perl via cygwin. stonefour has taken a stab at building jz2 on the Mac OS X. Thanks guys for swinging by the JabberZilla room at jabberzilla@conference.jabber.org and helping out.
