FWIW, I have successfully used Tab Mix 0.2.1 instead of TBE with the latest
IEView. It has many of the functions of TBE as well as some others I find
useful.

Unfortunately, TBE is pretty badly-behaved, and when IE View (or other
extensions) try and work in some of the same areas it does, things
break. I'm not optimistic about being able to work around it; and the
TBE author has made it clear he's not going to try and fix TBE.
Meantime, older versions of IE View are at:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=35
&page=releases
Of course, bug fixes won't be applied to those, etc.
As a workaround, you may want to try disabling the always-view-in-IE
list (this is the part that conflicts with TBE). See
http://ieview.mozdev.org/faq.html#disablealways for details.
