[Ieview] IE View 1.2.4 in Firefox 1.0.6 -- bookmarks no longerwork

Charles, your suggestions worked. IE View functions correctly (even after I
restored all my old Bookmarks), and Firefox is noticeably faster than
before. There indeed must have been something incorrect in the previous
profile.

Thanks very much for your help,

raphael

Sure...
Go to:
My Computer
  Local Disk (C:) (C drive)
   Documents and Settings
YourUsername (this will be a folder with the same name as
the User you are logging in with)
     Application Data
(this is a hidden folder by default, so you may have to go to the Tools
> Folder Options > ViewTab and change the radio button choice to 'Show
hidden files and folders)
Now, once in this folder, simply move the 'Mozilla' folder to your
desktop. Be careful with this folder - it contains everything in your
Firefox profile - bookmarks, etc., so don't 'delete' it, just move it.
Once you've done this, minimize the window, and start Firefox. It will
automatically create a fresh, new profile. Now test.
Once you're done testing, if you want to keep the new profile, you can
close Firefox and copy your bookmarks from your old profile to your new one.
There are other settings that can be transferred, but that is more
complex than for what we are discussing. Google is your friend...

I neglected to mention...
To get back to your original profile, just delete the 'new' Mozilla
folder that was created when you started Firefox after moving the
original, and then move the original folder back.
Of course, it goes without saying that you must only move this folder
while Firefox is *not* running.
