That's quite odd. Even Greasemonkey isn't localized? The default
Firefox package does not come with language packs, so most of the UI
will still be in English. Only localized extensions such as GM appear
in the specified language. My Ubuntu install is pretty close to stock
(a bunch of extra packages, but nothing crufty or broken).

I don't know any other way to test localization, though that doesn't
mean that there isn't another way.
