[Greasemonkey] FF Wants to Save User Scripts

It looks like the only way to add items is to use the automatic
way in the "what do you want me to do with this file?" dialog and
the "always perform this action for this type" checkbox. Which is
potentially a weakness in the interface. You might be able to mess
with the about:config directly, but I've never done that. If the
data is even stored there, and not somewhere else. Note that this
whole 'system' has had weirdness problems in Ffx where it didn't
work well and/or did weird stuff. Who knows if they fixed that.

I think a problem I had before was in the Windoze File Associations.
If that extension/mime type is associated with a program, then Ffx
may try to do something there. You can go into the Tools | Folder Options...
dialog under any explorer directories/files window and check the
File Types tab. These are sometimes called something else in different
versions of Windoze. If .js is associated with some program there,
you could try deleting that entry and see if that maybe fixes your
problem. Although, be forewarned that it could cause problems in
Windoze if you want/need .js files/mime types associated with some
program. If you know what you're doing, you can always write down
the info and recreate the entry.

Other than that, it could be some weird Win2K thing.
Try searching the list if you haven't yet.
btw -- If you can remember what you did between when it used to work
and when it stopped working, that might also clue you in to something.
(software installations are usually the culprit)
