[Greasemonkey] downloading .xpi files

when one clicks on the greasemonkey installation .xpi file, you get the install-software dialog.
   
  i copied the .xpi file to my site (so that i could make sure users could download it), and when they click on the link, they get a different
  save-as download dialog.
   
  any reasons?
