Sadly, it doesn't look like there is a better one than Chris gives.

Now, I happen to have two copies of Firefox installed (1.5.4 and  
1.0.6, I think), and running a second one while the first is still  
running will bring up the profile manager, because the second copy  
cannot access the (active) main profile.

Chris, doesn't the option need to be spelled out: -profilemanager --  
I tried it with just "-p" and it launched Firefox, but not the  
profilemanager.
