maybe they upgraded sine i last checked
regardless, the current version is 2.1.8, released on 15-Apr-2006
maybe it just seemed like they were farther behind because they are so 
far behind
you apparently haven't had much experience with the forums of today
they are much different from the way you describe them
anyone who makes the comment that "web forums are a kludge" is
severely out of touch with the reality of the situation
