Hmm... that did not work for me with some lame error:

boots at booguntu:~$ LANG=de firefox

(firefox-bin:7582): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

Can you try it real quick with the latest build I attached to this thread?
