I would still like to see an "About" link, or section, or tab, or whatever,
that shows all the particulars for a script. I think the "Edit" feature is a
bad way to go for non-programmer types. NOT user-friendly at all.
This feature would also solve problems where the name change would make
two scripts installed performing kind of dual similar functionality
executing at the same time. Which most non-power users would fail to
see, imo.
And could cause odd things to occur.
I wonder what the usage is between so-called and grouped programmers,
power users, able users, beginners, etc. -- whatever groupings you would
want
to use to differentiate different levels. I guess there's no way to tell
that.
We don't even know how many times each version of Gm is
installed/downloaded?
It could be a lot of trouble for only a few renaming situations, though.
Maybe.
I think it would also be nice to have a creator-specified metadata item
that is an install
message for the user that could be anything from "Thanks for using my
script", to
"Warning! This script used to be named whatever", etc. and would pop up
with OK/CANCEL
buttons. Which should be able to be disabled for power users and the like.
Gotta keep everyone happy. More or less.
