Thanks all for your replies, it's been really helpful. I'll try to dive 
into it today, if I have some time.

I have played around with the globals a bit yesterday, and they seem to 
be working. I must have done something wrong in older code.
I'll try to get the EventManager into my code, and see how many times FF 
crashes. Let's hope it doesn't :)
