Thanks to Johan and Matteo for their clear-eyed responses to my
tirade against Chickenfoot. There is much to like there, as well,
once I got over the "oh, hell, not another darned language to
learn" and the single-threadedness of the Mac implementation of
Firefox.
I especially like the integrated editor with its real-time
interpretation of scripts and pattern-matching and I think (for
those with multi-threaded Firefox who don't hit what appears to
be a steep first step in the learning curve) that it will bring
lots of new folks into the "user scripting" realm.
Actually, the language they've cooked up reminds me a little bit of
REBOL, a high-level "messaging language" designed for building
networked applications. I recall finding it an attractive
distraction for a while...
