Sounds like a good idea. That "worst case scenario", while a bit bad,
as in the "lots of my 0.5 series GM scripts don't work; will we have to
redo all scripts at random intervals for newer GM versions?" bad press
it is likely to receive), is just not horribly so, because 99% of them still
are fixable with a bit of competent work. (I'm assuming you pick the
more secure but full-backwards-compatibility-breaking path here; it's
either bad press from users or bad press from the security people.)
I'd still guess it much better than an extended period of time without a
working Greasemonkey release at all. If you have good reason to think
you have a fix for the entire problem in the pipe perhaps in yet another
week, it might be worth waiting for, though, to spare all the clueless (in
this context not used derogatively) people running scripts that break a
lot of grief and/or anxiety about what happened to their tools.
