[Greasemonkey] Adding a button to call Javascript

Unfortunately, I'm a complete novice with Greasemonkey.
I know how to install a script, so I presume I just create a .user.js script
with this single line in it, then install it in Firefox.
Thing is, I don't understand how to create a button or call the script.
