We can have the classic Vim versus Emacs fight and start taking bets on
which side will dismember the other first.

My paying job is developing semantic web programs and development tools,
so I've actually warmed up to the idea a bit. I'm not going to claim
that it's the future of the web or whatever, but I think it's really
good at merging metadata. Anywho, I think I'll recommend Shelly Powers'
Practical RDF if you want to learn about how you can actually put
semantic web stuff to (possibly good) use. Since I plugged something, I
don't mind if you do the same for a "why the semantic web sucks big time
article," but I'd like the discussion (on this mailing list) to end
there because it is wandering off topic.
