[Greasemonkey] Greasemonkey & portable firefox

Just discovered the Greasemonkey extension (thanks
Slashdot!).  Most excellent utility - time to brush up
on my Javascript.

GM runs fine on my desktop - I've installed several
scripts and they work as advertised.  I'm having some
trouble running GM with portable Firefox
(http://johnhaller.com/jh/mozilla/portable_firefox/) -
I installed GM, installed some scripts, everything
looks fine (GM is enabled, etc), but the scripts don't
appear to be executing.

No errors in the Javascript console or anything; just
a whole lot of nothing happening.

Any GM gurus have any suggestions about where I could
look or what I could do to track down what's going on?
