yes, my experience with GMail at the moment is that it is _the_ uber forum...

what about separate lists for different focused groups?

gm_users (general discussion)
gm_developers (adv javascript, mozilla extensions, etc)

or even: gm_hackers (super-nerds)

I understand ppls hesitation, but the cool thing about a forum though,
is that it allows topics to stream off in a more focused (or random,
tangental) way without sending messages to everyone on the list... may
not be such a bad idea
