And now for more than a knee-jerk response...
The reason Simon and I didn't do this earlier is.. how they're
actually working.  Repeatedly requesting history is pretty abusive. 
If it became popular, it'd be a significant performance cost.

I sent an email to wikitech-l notifying them of this development.  I
think it's great for users.. but you can only count on donations and
Wales' good humor so much...

Here's hoping for a good resolution.
