This is all silly.  1) I never said that Microsoft was "behind" it; I
just thought it was interesting that the author was in Redmond.  2)
Microsoft owns a ridiculously large block of IP addresses which (like
all other large companies) they may lease out to third parties, who in
turn lease them to paying customers. 3) Who cares if he works at
Microsoft?  Employees of large corporations do lots of random shit on
their own time (*cough* Aaron works at Google *cough* I work at IBM
*cough*).
