I wished for something like this when I started working on unit tests for GM.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing.  For the unit testing purpose, it'd
be more generally useful (outside of GM) to have an extension unit
testing framework, but getting there seems like a huge job.  There's
XULRunner, so I think a fake browser could be implemented... but that
seems like a life's work.  There's gotta be a better way which I'm
missing.

As far as demonstrations to make users feel good, wouldn't screencasts
(as previously suggested) go far for this?
