I see it has been posted and I have had the problem also. I did get it back temporarily but it is gone now. The last color I selected is in effect and I can uninstall and reinstall Gmailskins and I always end up in Gmail with the last color I selected but still no Gmailskins tab. I actually used it for a while selecting the color combo I am using now but as you observed, it went away.
