From joelion at gmail.com Thu May 4 15:34:35 2006 From: joelion at gmail.com (Joe Lion) Date: Thu May 4 08:35:10 2006 Subject: [Gmailskins] feature suggestion - integration with Google Calendar Message-ID: I have a feature request/suggestion that I think would greatly enhance Gmail and Google Calendar, and I think GmailSkins would be a good place to implement it. I love the new Google Calendar and it's current integration with Gmail, but I would like to see much tighter integration. Specifically, I hate that Calendar opens in its own window/tab, and I can't switch back and forth between my Calendar and inbox in the same window. I think in Gmail, there should be a "Calendar" list item on the left, right above/below Contacts or something. This link will open Calendar directly into the same window. Then in Calendar view there would be a few Gmail links on the left side, like Inbox, maybe Compose Mail. This way you could go between the applications in the same window and with minimal clicks. I pitched the idea to Mihai Parparita over at http://persistent.info/archives/2006/04/23/gmail-filter as a GreaseMonkey extension, but didn't get much feedback. I think it would work well as part of this extension or as a new one. -- Joe Lion http://joelion.com joelion@gmail.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If you go to settings -> labels or disable gmailskins then you should see the label. When you click save on the settings page then the label is updated, and when you log in gmail skins reads the lables and then applies the corresponding settings. Deleting it will just set gmailskins back to it's "thanks for installing gmailskins" state. Hope this clears things up Thanks Matthew On 5/5/06, Nik Thierry wrote: > > Hi, > > I've just installed GmailSkins on my PC at work and my Mac at home. > Somehow the settings from one machine affect the other, which makes me > wonder where the settings are stored. What about making it go to new line, moving another content down? Or, at least, removing something else from navigation? Could you build in a feature that lets you still place the Labels menu on the left hand side while the remaining navigation sections (inbox, starred, chats etc.) is still placed horizontally ? The problem is that I always keep the Labels menu opened to see where my incoming emails are redirected. However right now when you tell Gmail skins to place the navigation horizontally the labels menu is collapsed by default and if you want to keep it open it overlaps the emails that are then shown within the respective label. If the labels menu could be kept on the left (or right hand side) while the other navigation panels are kept horizontally it would be great because there would be no overlapping with the displayed emails anymore. Hope to see this request implemented in future updates. Keep up the good work. Cheers Kami -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
