It made the change to "horizontal" nav, but when clicking the "settings", it will only permit me access to the "general" submenu -- not the gmailskins menu to change it back. I uninstalled and return to gmail without skins OK, but when I re-installed, it took me right back to the problem. In other words, I can click the links for composte, inbox, etc., but not for any of the settings except those that come up under general, and cannot click "archive, delete, etc. either". It DID work to change color OK, but only froze after using the "horizontal" setting. I'd like to get back to square one and start fresh with gmailskins. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: Dear gmailskins list, Firstly, I'm not subscribed, as I don't need yet-another-label in gmail, so please reply to me as well as the list 8) Whenever I send an email, I get the "Stop script / Continue" popup box about 3-4 times. I disabled every greasemonkey script I had, so the only possible cause would be gmailskins. Mentioned in the FAQ, you crawl through the gmail functions to get the proper names. Could this be causing it? Does it do the crawl on ever reload? If so, it might be viable to cache these values in the skin label, and simply check the if the cached value is a real function before crawling for the new value. You might not notice this script thing on a faster machine (I don't at home), but my work machine is fairly poor, and this little popup gets annoying. Thanks for your work with gmailskins, I like it alot. PS Side note - why not make the skins non-embedded, actually placing .css files in some profile dir? That way, people can get crazy with them, changing things beyond just the color sets. Then in the far future, you could even provide an 'update skins' / 'get more skins' tool. /me pipedreams. Is it just as the inbox is loading again after you have sent a message? What kind of spec is the machine? Do you see these popups regularly on javascript intensive websites? I am trying to make it easier for users to add their own css (with an external css file), but I doubt this will make it in to v1.0. The update skins feature is a nice idea, but I don't really see it as ever happening simply because there are not that many skins (take http://www.skingmail.com/ as an example). Any good skins that are made I can just incorporate in to the xpi as I imagine there are/will be very few. Heh, I understand not wanting to subscribe, no problem. I typically get it when I click 'send' after mailing to a long gmail 'thread' - be it a personal conversation, or a mailing list thread. I hit send, get one continue/stop popup, the little box "Your email has been sent" pops up, I get another continue/stop popup, then my new mail is added to the bottom of the conversation, and I get a final popup. Sometimes there are 2 messages before the "Your email has been sent" widget. > What kind of spec is the machine? Do you see these popups regularly on > javascript intensive websites? 700MHz, 256MB ram, windows xp - it's a work machine, and the only other times I've gotten the popup were greasemonkey related - the most recent one I can recall was actually gmail-oriented too... it was the greasemonkey script that added a "Mark all read" button next to the trash one - I don't know if you can glean any info from that script. With all gmail-oriented JS shut down (gmailskins and greasemonkey), it acts fine. With all the options in gmailskins, I've actually killed all the greasemonkey scripts I had for gmail. I'm rather busy or else I'd debug it myself, but I can test things if you'd like - if there's any ideas you have.
